Rotarians offer Community Grant Scheme.

Small charities and community groups in and around Keighley and the Worth Valley could benefit from the area’s third running of Rotary’s running of their successful Community Grant Scheme.

The previous two schemes were operated by the Rotary Club of Haworth & Worth Valley which joined the Rotary Club of Keighley at the end of last month. Now the scheme being run by the Keighley club.

The Community Grant Scheme, which is operated by the club’s charitable trust, was first run in 2021 and for a second time in 2023.

Once again the Rotarians are making £2,000 available to fund the grant scheme in an attempt to sustain the smaller organisations which make such a big difference to the lives of the people living in Keighley and the Worth Valley.

Nicholas Oughtibridge, spokesman for the organising group pictured above, said: “When we last ran our Community Grant scheme, we were overwhelmed by the quality of the applications and the clear need in our area for charitable help.

“We are one of the few charities who can support the smaller groups as they strive to bring quality into other peoples’ lives.”

Charities and other not-for-profit organisations supporting communities in Keighley and the Worth Valley are eligible to apply for grants. To apply all they need is a bank account held in their own name as individuals cannot apply.

Application forms can be obtained by going to the Rotary Club of Haworth & Worth Valley’s web page and clicking on www.rotary-kwv.org.uk/comunitygrants.

The Community Grant Scheme will be opened at 09:00 hrs on Monday, April 14th and the deadline for applications 23:59 hrs on Monday 2nd June.

Added Nicholas: “Please bear in mind that we only have a limited amount of money available and that the process has to be competitive. The trustees will consider all the applications and announce who has been successful on Monday, June 2nd.
