Your full guide to the 2025 Santa Fun Run

The Rotary Club of Keighley will be stage their the fourth annual Family Santa Fun Run around Haworth Park on Sunday, November 30th, starting at 11.00an.

The event is run as part of the Christmas in Haworth programme and the Rotarians pride themselves on creating a ‘fun’, non-competitive event that provides something that all the family can take part in.

The first Santa Fun run was staged very successfully in 2022 by the Rotary Club of Haworth & Worth Valley but, unfortunately, inclement weather conditions forced the event to be run seven days later than planned in 2023 with a subsequent reduction in the number of entrants.

The event is run by the Rotarians in support of the club’s Charitable Trust and the funds are directed through to raising money for local Rotary charities, such as the hugely successful Community Grant Scheme which aids other charitable bodies in Keighley and the Worth Valley.

Club President Liz Joyce said: “The most important aspect of this event is that it is enjoyable for every member of the family who wants to take part. It’s exciting to be part of Haworth’s Christmas programme and if we can raise some money to help with our effort in the community so much the better.

“The club is really grateful to Haworth Bowling Club for helping us again in 2025. Their pavilion provides cover for our registration centre as well as providing cover while people have a cup of tea and a piece of cake. It’s an amazing piece of local cooperation.”

As in previous years the Family Santa Fun Run will be staged entirely in Haworth Central Park with the runners being asked to complete ten laps of the park’s pathway system.

It is estimated that that if the runners complete all ten laps then they will have covered five kilometres! But there’s no pressure to complete the whole course, you can drop out at any time!

For 2025 the start and finish point will be adjacent to the Haworth Bowling Club pavilion at the Butt Lane entrance to the park and the runners will be sent on their way by this year’s guest starter, Robbie Moore MP.

People of of all ages are able to take part and all the Rotary Club asks that people are fit enough to run and wear suitable clothing taking into consideration the weather conditions on the day. Runners are also asked to wear suitable footwear bearing mind the winter weather can often make conditions more slippery under foot.

The organisers will do all in their power to ensure that the paths are safe enough on which to run but runners can help by wearing appropriate shoes/ trainers.

For the 2025 Santa Fun if you pre-register prior to the day there will be a modest entry fee of £6 per adult, £3 for one child and a family entry (two adults and two children) costing £14.
